The ideal first encounter with Etna: a trek of about 3 hours discovering the four extinct craters of the 2002 eruption — the one that reshaped the northern slope and Piano Provenzana itself.

The route crosses landscapes that change with every step: pine woods that survived the lava, lava channels, ash fields and the now-silent cones of the eruption.

Suited to anyone with moderate fitness looking for an authentic experience away from the standard tourist routes, told by a guide who was born on this slope.
